THE SCIENCE

Human nature,
powered by science.

One simple assessment gives you the people data you need to build great teams, align them to your strategy, and achieve your business goals.

Our core science is
The E3 Assessment.

Behavioral Essentials’ core science is our E3 Assessment, a behavioral assessment which boosts awareness of a person’s strengths and highlights potential opportunities for growth. One simple tool will instantly identify the behavioral traits of you, your employees, and candidates so that you can make the right people decisions fast.

Valid & Reliable

The E3 is based on a valid & reliable scientific methodology for behavioral testing. Additionally the E3 has been tested with thousands of companies and administered over 1,000,000 times.

EEO Compliant

The E3 Assessment was determined EEO compliant by a prominent employment law firm before we went to the market in 2006.

Focuses on Behaviors

The results focus directly on how a person behaves so we can recommend actionable steps to help improve their work and personal life or for leaders to make hiring decisions.

Instant Results

The E3 Assessment is easy to administer, takes 8-10 minutes to complete and the results are generated instantly.

THE METHODOLOGY

Driven by decades of
behavioral science.

The E3 Assessment is based on adjective checklist methodology for behavioral testing that was established as a valid and reliable methodology in the 1950s and 1960s, and has been tested with thousands of companies. Adjectives are used because they represent an individual’s preferences more accurately than statements or questions. Because of language differences, literacy levels, cultural and regional nuances, and other contextual factors, many assessments that have statistically validated results still fail to capture an individual’s behavioral preferences because people don’t understand the statements or questions presented or can be more easily gamed.

A BIODATA Instrument

More powerful than a
personality test.

The E3 Assessment falls under the category of biodata in the US Office of Personnel Management’s classification of assessments. Biodata refers to behavioral consistency – in other words, past behavior is a reliable indicator of future behavior. In addition, biodata instruments like the E3 Assessment represent a larger perspective of an individual’s way of being in the world. Unlike the DISC or MBTI, which give you a 4-item perspective of fixed traits, the E3 Assessment is a composite of your motivators and preferences of behavior – this means that you can’t extract just one result and it be true on its own, instead your results must be looked at like a mosaic that fits together as a whole.

The reports
